7 places to get a pumpkin this fall

Whether you are looking for a fall decoration or looking to carve one for spooky Halloween décor, picking a pumpkin is the perfect family-friendly way to celebrate the season. Check out these pumpkin patches in the Charleston area!

1. West Farm

Open Sept. 27 – Oct 27

Pick a pumpkin at West Farm! West Farm has a pumpkin barn featuring pumpkins from the Wilson family at Cotton Hills Farm. They also have a corn maze, farm zoo, hayride, and apple slingshot for the fall season. West Farm is located in Moncks Corner. General admission is $5 and includes a hayride, the farm zoo, play area, and picnic area.

2. Legare Farms

Open Sept. 28 – Oct. 28

Legare Farms pumpkin patch is open for business! They are located on Johns Island. You can also go on a hayride or horse ride, visit the scarecrow factory or visit the gem mine. Gate admission is free, but activities may cost extra.

3. Boone Hall

Open until Oct. 31

Head over to Boone Hall! Boone Hall pumpkin patch is located in Mt. Pleasant. They also have a corn maze, petting zoo, family-friendly hayride, and kids playground! General admission is $12 and includes all attractions.

4. JWUM Church

Open until Oct. 31

John Wesley United Methodist Church is selling pumpkins to support Youth Missions. Proceeds go towards raising money for the church’s youth to go on mission trips. The church is located in West Ashley at 626 Savannah Highway. They are selling pumpkins from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. on weekdays, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. Saturdays, and noon – 8 p.m. on Sundays.

5. Dempsey Farms

Open Oct. 7 – Nov. 1

Stop by Dempsey Farms for a pumpkin! Dempsey Farms is located on St. Helena Island at 1576 Sea Island Parkway. While you’re there, check out their selection of fall vegetables too. Dempsey Farms is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Open Oct. 4 – Oct. 31

From pumpkins to a zoo to a speedway, Holiday Farms has everything to get you excited for fall. They are located at 10884 Grays Hwy in Ridgeland. Don’t forget to check out a pig race or stop in the general store for jam, honey, or a refreshment!

7. Knightsville Pumpkin Patch

Open through Oct. 31

The Knightsville Pumpkin Patch in Summerville has all kinds of pumpkins and fall items. They have hay bales, gourds, corn stalks, etc. Go visit them at 3408 mistletoe ln. in Summerville to pick up any of your fall needs.
