8th Annual ‘Birthday Party 4 Jesus’ kicks off Wednesday morning

The 8th annual Birthday Party 4 Jesus, a Christmas celebration, kicks off Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. at The Citadel’s Johnson Hagood Stadium.

The event is sponsored by Without Walls Ministry, with the help of area churches, business and volunteers.

It features free food, music and activities.  There will also be activities for the kids, presents and free bikes for children ages 4-12 (child must be present while supplies last).

The ministry is also looking for volunteers, especially barbers and hair stylists, to give free haircuts during the event. Organizers are also looking for donors who can provide gifts, bikes, coats and blankets. The ministry is asking people to fill and donate shoeboxes wrapped and loaded with gifts for children in need.

Gift suggestions for boys include Bibles, coloring books and crayons, pencils, pens, erasers, notepads, books, stickers, puzzles, socks, T-shirts, combs/brushes
toothpaste/toothbrushes, watches/clocks, billfolds, Matchbox cars or trucks, miniature toys, CDs, balls, baseball cards, games, candy and gum.

Gift suggestions for girls include Bibles, coloring books, crayons, stationery, watercolors, pencils, pens, erasers, notepads, books, stickers, puzzles, socks, t-shirts, toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs, brushes, hair accessories, makeup cases, jewelry, coin purses, wallets, watches/clocks, CDs, jump rope, games, candy and gum.

The event runs from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
