Owners Nathan and Chasity Brown

Daddy’s Girls Bakery was founded in 2011 by a local Charleston couple, Nathan and Chasity Brown. The concept started as a hobby when Mrs. Brown made her eldest daughter’s four-year-old birthday cake to rave reviews from family and friends. Next they baked Nate’s family recipe: Charleston Chewies. He learned the recipe from his Auntie Landa while growing up in Charleston. “A Charleston Chewie is a brown sugar brownie, that melts in your mouth and is highly addictive,” claims Nate.

They started by selling to local salons and barbershops in their neighborhood. Then the

Browns realized from the overwhelming positive responses that they had a talent with baked goods, and their bakeshop was born. They opened a kiosk at the Charleston International Airport, a stand at the Charleston Farmer’s market, and a booth at the downtown Charleston Open Air night market.
