A taste of the Caribbean is coming to Charleston and your tastebuds will have the opportunity to take a trip to the islands!
The Longboard Restaurant, an island-inspired eatery, plans to make its debut on Sullivan’s Island in the spring of 2020. It’s a pretty cool concept because the original location of the Caribbean bar is located in the U.S. Virgin Islands on the island of St. John! Owners, Clint Gaskins and Tyler Beckstead, who are Charleston natives, plan to focus on island meals and coastal dishes at the restaurant.
Guests can expect fresh seafood, a variation of shellfish options and tropical produce. In the spirit of keeping it local, food from Lowcountry farms and fishermen will be in the mix as well. If you take a look at their St. John’s menu, you’ll notice there won’t be a shortage of fresh, island-inspired dishes. Menu items include island guacamole, tacos, lobster, ceviche, sushi wraps, and Hawaiian- inspired poke bowls!
Don’t worry, bar options will include frozen cocktails and drinks made with freshly squeezed juices, syrups (made in-house), and even local kombucha! Surely, those tasty drinks will be garnished with colorful umbrellas and slices of fresh fruit because it’s all about that island life.
Longboard Restaurant will be located at 2213-B Middle Street, the former location of 450 Pizza Joint. Keep up with The Longboard – Sullivan’s Island on Facebook here! Cheers!
