Lowcountry animal lovers can enjoy tasty treats all for a good cause! The Charleston Animal Society is hosting the 19th Annual Chili Cookoff and Roast Saturday, November 17th! The cook-off is one of the biggest fundraising events for homeless animals in South Carolina. Money raised goes to Toby’s Fund, the Animal Society’s medical fund that treats nearly 20,000 abused, ill and injured animals each year. At the event, more than 75 teams will spread out across Riverfront Park to serve up some of the best chili you could have in the area. It will be judged in three categories: Traditional, unique and best in show. There will also be all you can eat oysters paired with games, a kids’ zone, live music and refreshments. The chili cook-off starts at noon and runs through 4 pm at Riverfront Park in North Charleston (1061 Everglades Avenue, North Charleston 29405).
