Duck Donuts kicks off third annual “Quack Gives Back” campaign

Duck Donuts is kicking off its third annual “Quack Gives Back” campaign in September! Throughout the month it will raise funds and awareness for the nonprofit, “Gabe’s Chemo Duck Program.” The Chemo Duck Program pairs toys with education to help relieve anxiety in children undergoing cancer treatment. The campaign launches in September to align with Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

All Duck Donuts locations are raising funds that will go towards purchasing Chemo Duck Programs for local pediatric oncology units starting Sept. 1.

How can you help? Stop by your local Duck Donuts store to buy a donut and a ribbon!

Supporters can purchase a $1 paper Ribbon Icon which will be displayed in “Duck Donuts” stores during September. Profits will go towards providing educational resources and comfort to families living with childhood cancer. People who donate will also receive a buy one, get one free donut coupon!

Gabe’s Chemo Duck Program started in 2004 in Nashville. The nonprofit organization helps parents prepare their children for chemotherapy. Children are provided with a plush Chemo Duck used for medical play therapy, a bilingual companion overview book, and an educational DVD featuring a cartoon about the program.

An estimated 40,000 children go through cancer treatment each year. Chemo Duck is a resource for kids to learn what to expect during cancer treatment in an age-appropriate manner and have someone to share their experience with.
