Great grits! It’s time to play IN your food

Get ready to get gritty! The World Grits Festival is back this weekend in St. George and it’s your opportunity to become Champion of the Rolling in the Grits Contest. Yes, you read that right. The highlight of the festival features a grit rolling contest, where contestants get 10 seconds to get as many grits stuck to their body as possible. That event runs all day Saturday, but the festival runs over three days, Friday, April 12 to Sunday, April 14.

Activities include a 5K race, parade, food vendors, arts, crafts, games and live music. It is, however, not all fun and games. From the beginning the World Grits Festival has been dedicated to community improvement. Aside from wholesome, family fun, the festival raises money for local students in need of scholarships.
