The Harlem Globetrotters are coming back to the Lowcountry, and they are planning to serve up slam dunks and sky high jumps for the fans! They are set to debut their first Fan Powered World Tour. The tour returns for two shows this Saturday at the North Charleston Coliseum. The one-of-a-kind show features some of the most elite dunkers on the planet, along with ball handlers and Guinness Record Holders. During the tour stops, the world-famous team announced that they will honor three former greats as Globetrotter Legends, the team’s highest honor short of jersey retirement. The three stars, Michael “Wild Thing” Wilson, Matt “Showbiz” Jackson, and Osborne “Goose” Lockhart, played a combined 48 seasons and collectively visited nearly 200 countries during their time as Globetrotters, and each left their mark as outstanding players and Ambassadors of Goodwill during their time with the team. Wilson, Jackson and Lockhart will each be presented with a prestigious Globetrotters Legend ring at upcoming stops on the tour. Wilson will be honored at the team’s show in Memphis on Jan. 18, while Jackson will be honored at the team’s show in Atlanta on Jan. 20, and Lockhart at the team’s show in Minneapolis on March 30.
There will be two shows on Saturday, Jan. 12 here in the Lowcountry at the North Charleston Coliseum. Show times are 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. For more information on the tour, be sure to visit https://www.harlemglobetrotters.com/
