It’s time for the Town of Mount Pleasant Blessing of the Fleet!

Celebrate the Lowcountry’s shrimping heritage at the Town of Mount Pleasant’s 32nd Annual Blessing of the Fleet and Seafood Festival on Sunday, April 28th. Enjoy a day on the Cooper at the beautiful and scenic Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park. A hallmark of the event is the boat parade. You’ll witness local shrimp boats,  spilling over with family and friends and decorated with flags in honor of the day. They form a procession along the edge of the pier where they’ll each receive a blessing for a bountiful season.

Of course, there will also be lots of food and live music. You’ll find seafood and other options from various Mount Pleasant restaurants as well as other festival favorites. Test your love of shrimp by joining the Shrimp Eating Contest! Celebrate South Carolina’s state dance by joining in the Shag competition or just dance on your own!

Take a break from eating and dancing and stroll through the Craft Show. Find a unique Lowcountry creation for a loved one or yourself!

Admission, activities and parking are free. However, parking is limited so you may want to jump on a shuttle. And luckily, those are free too! Below is a list of where you can catch a shuttle. Check out this schedule of events so you don’t miss a thing!
