It's late, you missed dinner, but fast food isn't going to cut through that hunger...you need something more serious. That's where these night-time hot spots come into play: check out a few of the Lowcountry's late night food favorites.

Early Bird Diner's Chicken and Waffles

Early Bird Diner

It’s late and you need a diner!
Early Bird is the place if you’re in West Ashley. On Friday and Saturday they’re open ’til 4am serving some of the best diner food in town. Whether you need eggs, a sandwich, or a some chicken and waffles, they’ve got you covered in delicious style.

You'll find the menu at their website

Sabatino's New York Style Pizza

When That Pizza Craving Hits

If you’re downtown, check out Sabatino’s. They do real New York style thin crust for a real good price, and they’re open until 3am.

Or there’s always Gilroy’s Pizza Pub: you know the vibe, pinball machine, old license plates on the walls. It’s a home away from home for hungry college kids until 4am.

If it's before Midnight you can try one of 4 Mellow Mushroom locations

Juanita Greenberg's Tacos

Late night tacos

Juanita Greenberg’s Nacho Royale is in Mt. P and on King St. downtown serving tacos and nachos until 1am.
Say it again Juanita Greenberg’s Nacho Royale.

Zia Taqueria on James Island is serving up the goods until Midnight on Friday and Saturday. Head out to a movie first for a delicious date.

And of course there’s Mex 1 dishing out until Midnight as well.

Mex 1 is also famous for their drinks

Crab Legs from Red's Icehouse

Head to Shem Creek

Vickery’s kitchen is open until 1am serving all kinds of good stuff. This is not your average bar food.

Or you could take a seat at Red’s Icehouse. You can have a seat outside on the massive patio, or hang out inside the dining room. The fried shrimp is a local favorite.

Unfotunately, Red's location on Seabrook Island has been closed since March because of a fire

Waffle House Classic Patty Melt

When all else fails....

There’s always a Waffle House.
And we just happen to have a pretty famous one. It’s been part of shows with Anthony Bourdain and Charleston native Stephen Colbert. The food’s always cooked to order right in front of your eyes, and it always contains the perfect amount of diner goodness (a.k.a butter).

James Island, Moncks Corner, and Walterboro also have a Huddle House

These are just few places around town. Where do you like to go for late night food?
