High Water Festival

DATE:  Saturday, April 13 & Sunday, April 14
TIME: 12-11:30 p.m
LOCATION: Riverfront Park, 1061 Everglades Park

It’s a celebration of music, food, and libations curated by Shovels & Rope at the High Water Festival taking place in North Charleston at Riverfront Park! Concerts, oyster education, and Lowcountry boils begin Saturday and Sunday at noon until about 10:30 p.m. The weekend will be full of cold brews, delicious food, and of course great music!

World Grits Festival

And happening this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday is the Worlds Grits Festival in St. George! The Grits Festival will include a weekend of arts and crafts, music, a carnival, grits eating contest and there’s even a rolling in the grits contest! Grit Lovers should head out to 110 South Parler Avenue to indulge in the big grits celebration!

Easter Egg Hunts

Hop on over to these Lowcountry Easter egg hunts for fun, prizes and some special appearances by the Easter Bunny! Some celebrations require registration or tickets, so make sure you check the details before grabbing your basket.

Daniel Island Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Film on the Field
Where: MUSC Health Stadium, 1990 Daniel Island Dr. Charleston, SC

Admission for the Easter Egg Hunt is limited, so get your tickets NOW! Tickets are just $5.30 per person (children 0-3 are FREE), including tax, and includes approximately a dozen filled eggs per child, jump castles, face painting, balloon artist, viewing of the movie HOP and a special visit from the Easter Bunny! Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the event. Gates open at 6 pm, hunt starts at 6:30 SHARP and movie starts at 7 p.m. Be sure each participant (ages 10 and under) brings a basket. Fit Mommy Charleston Presents: The Best Easter Egg Hunt Ever!

Park Circle Community Easter Egg Hunt

Come to Park Circle for visits from the Easter Bunny, games, snacks, and egg hunting!  Egg hunts will be conducted in age groups: ages 1-4— 12:30 p.m., ages 5-8— 12:45 p.m. and ages 9-12– 1 p.m. After the hunts, eggs are returned in exchange for a goodie bag full of treats.  Be sure to bring a basket, a chair or blanket for sitting, and a camera to capture your visit with the Easter Bunny!

Charleston Helicopter Easter Egg Drop

You don’t want to miss the sight of 30,000 eggs dropping from the sky, with two different drops for preschool-aged children & elementary-aged children. This free community event with prizes, giveaways, & age-appropriate games for all kids & families!  The event also features food trucks, professional family photography, face painting, sports competitions, petting zoos, & a very special appearance by the Easter Bunny.

Magnolia Plantation and Gardens Easter Egg Hunt

Where: 3550 Ashley River Rd Charleston, SC
Date: Saturday, April 20

Cost: Free with garden admission: $20/adults, $10/children 6 to 12 years, children 5 and under free.

The annual Lowcountry tradition returns for its 10th year, featuring 20,000 eggs stuffed with candy and prizes. Some lucky searchers will discover special eggs with prizes like a nature train ride, nature boat ride, giant chocolate bunny or an annual family membership. Participants will have an opportunity to participate in the morning or afternoon hunt in different age groups. The schedule is: 3 and under 10:00 am or 12:30 pm 4-5 years 10:30 am or 1:00 pm 6-8 years 11:00 am or 1:30 pm 9-12 years 11:30 am or 2:00 pm. Space is limited, so plan to arrive one hour before your hunt time.

Middleton Place Easter Eggstravaganza

Where:  4300 Ashley River Rd Charleston, SC 29414
Date: Saturday, April 20
Time: 10:30am – 1:00pm
Cost: Included with General Admission/free for Members, reservations are required.

Bring a basket and explore the Gardens, then take your eggs to the Stableyards to be dyed. Additionally, children play colonial games, participate in the Egg Race and Egg Toss, hear classic stories, make Easter crafts and more. Ceramic prize eggs, hand-made by the Middleton Place Resident Potter, will be hidden among the undyed eggs. One Grand Prize egg will be hidden in each egg hunt for a chance to win an annual Family Membership to Middleton Place. The first hunt begins promptly at 11 am. Guests are encouraged to stay after the Easter activities and enjoy the Gardens and Plantation Stableyards with the family. Easter Brunch will be served from 10 am – 4 pm in the Middleton Place Restaurant.

 

Egg-Stravaganza in Hampton Park
