South Carolina State Fair plans first ever drive-through fair

The South Carolina State Fair announced today it will host its first-ever Drive-Through S.C. State Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 20 and Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020. Guests are invited to drive through the fairgrounds and experience unique attractions celebrating South Carolina agriculture, history, arts and culture. Admission will be free and all exhibits will be available from the comfort and safety of your car.

While there may not be any rides this tear, don’t worry! You won’t miss out on any of your favorite fair cuisine! Lexington Medical Center Fair Park will house a special drive-thru on the fairgrounds where you can buy the fried delicacies and sweet concoctions the fair is famous for.

“The Drive-Through State Fair is going to give folks a snippet of the fair they’ve known their entire lives,” said Smith. “It will certainly look different, but we look forward to sharing this gift with the community. It will truly be a year like no other.”

This year, the public is also encouraged to share “Prize-Winning Memories” from S.C. State Fairs of the past. The State Fair will share these images on social media in October.  They might even be part of the Drive-Through State Fair.  You can submit photos, quotes and videos by emailing favoritememory@scstatefair.org.
