South Carolina’s Vote for Best Picture

With the 91st Academy Awards just around the corner everyone has a favorite for this year’s Best Picture.

Researchers over at USDirect used trending Google search data to figure out each state’s favorites for best picture.

Their research shows South Carolina residents searched for Black Panther more than any other Best Picture nominee. It’s also the highest-grossing movie on the list, making more than $1.3 billion worldwide. Black Panther also stood as most searched by our like-minded neighbors in North Carolina. Although, Georgians searched more for the Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody. Overall Bohemian Rhapsody came in as the top search in 50% of states. Other states searched for A Star Is Born, Green Book or Roma. It seems The Favourite was no state’s favorite, along with fellow nominees Vice and BlacKkKlansman.
