The Charleston Gaillard Center may be closed, but they’re using this time to put together something special for you. While they’re taking the time to bring new talent to their 2020-2021 series, they’re giving you a virtual preview. Below are two shows for you to enjoy while you’re waiting to return to the Martha and John M. Rivers Performance Hall.

Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra

The Gaillard Center is so excited to bring Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis back to the Lowcountry! The performance celebrates the centennial of Charlie Parker, the iconic saxophonist and bebop pioneer, along with other Jazz greats. Don’t miss the fireworks when the JLCO comes to town! An Evening with Audra McDonald

October 27 | 7:30pm

Audra McDonald  performs her trademark mix of songs from Broadway, the Great American Songbook, and beyond. The winner of a record-breaking six Tony Awards, two Grammy Awards, and an Emmy Award, McDonald was named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people of 2015 and received a 2015 National Medal of Arts—America’s highest honor for achievement in the arts—from President Barack Obama. Check out her feature in Take Me to the World: A Sondheim 90th Birthday Celebration at the 1:58:40 mark.
