Watch Halloween movies at a drive-in in the woods!

There’s a new drive-in movie experience in the Lowcountry and this one is just in time for Halloween! All October long, The Woodlands Nature Reserve SPACED-OUT Series presents: Drive-In the Woods on their 6000 acre nature reserve. Every Friday and Saturday in October, they will have a double feature showing on a 60 X 30 screen in a grassy field surrounded by trees. Can there be a better back drop for scary movies? Spooky! Food trucks and vendors will be on hand but you can also bring your own coolers, blankets and chairs. Tickets will be limited to 150 cars, with each vehicle placed next to a vacant car space allowing for social distancing and your own private viewing area. Gates open at 5 p.m. so you’ll have plenty of time to settle in for the family-friendly feature at 7 p.m. The late show will feature a classic horror film starting at 9:30 p.m.

Tickets are $40 per vehicle (up to 4 people) for one of the movie viewings. If you’d like to watch both films, the double feature pass is $60.  And if your group is a little bigger than four, for $10 you can bring additional guests up to 8 people per site.

But wait…there’s more! As if the movie experience isn’t enough, your ticket allows you access to the Woodlands Nature preserve starting at 12 p.m. the day of your show. It’s a 6,000 acre nature reserve that includes 11 lakes, a blackwater swamp and tons of natural beauty and wildlife. There are several overnight and camping options available too!
