The West Ashley Farmers market opens for the season Wednesday at Ackerman Park off Sycamore Drive and will run into early October.
The Farmers Market is free and runs Wednesdays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. It features farmers and growers as well as food vendors and kids activities, and is also pet friendly.
It will run through October 2.
It’s sponsored by the City of Charleston’s Office of Cultural Affairs.
Live entertainment and family-friendly activities will enhance the farmers’ market experience, with opening day live music provided Wednesday by The Blue Plantation Band.
There is plenty of free parking at the Farmers Market site and adjacent parking lots near the former Ryan’s Steakhouse on St. Andrews Boulevard.
