It's no secret Bill Murray loves Charleston. If you're looking to spot actor Bill Murray in the Charleston area, here are some places you may want to check out!
The Charleston Riverdogs
One of your best bets for seeing Mr. Murray yourself is a Charleston Riverdogs game. Bill Murray is a co-owner of the minor league baseball team and often makes appearances at the games! He has been known to walk around and socialize with some of the guests when he’s not watching from the stands with friends.
It’s no secret that Bill Murray loves the restaurant scene here in Charleston. He’s also co-owner of a couple! Harold’s Cabin is a restaurant and market that features vegetable-driven menus with ingredients straight from their rooftop garden. Murray is part owner of this farm-to-table eatery and can be spotted grabbing a bite or having a drink there on occasion.
The Gin Joint
It’s been said that Mr. Murray has made quite a few visits to this East Bay Street bar. Rumor has it that he enjoys one of The Gin Joint’s mint juleps from time to time. If you’re hoping to spot the part-time Charleston resident, you may want to head over to The Gin Joint and grab a drink.
This location is extra special, because our very own Live 5 team had the pleasure of meeting Bill Murray there themselves! In May 2017, our team went to grab a bite at this chicken sandwich restaurant and were lucky enough to bump into the actor (and even snagged a picture with him). If you’re feeling lucky, head on over to this delicious local spot, and you may just get to meet Bill yourself!
The Container Bar
This one is brand new! Created by Bill Murray and his Rutledge Cab Co. partners, Brad Creger and Mike Veeck, The Container Bar is a food truck “bar” that features food from multiple different food trucks for lunch and dinner. The restaurant JUST had its soft open on Wednesday, September 19 to bring in some business while the owners await their liquor license. Murray is sure to make an appearance at the restaurant/food truck hub once it is fully up and running, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled!
