Charleston drops…but still ranks in Best Itty Bitty Cities for a quickie getaway

Although it seems all we do is grow and grow, the Holy City may still be considered “itty bitty, ” at least on one list. Hotwire has compiled their third annual list of “Best Cities for a Quickie Getaway” and Charleston has dropped from the number 1 spot in 2020 to the number 6 spot this year. To create this list, Hotwire analyzed more than 10,000 data points across 350 cities based on value, driveability and leisure. They looked at the variety of entertainment options a city has to offer, number of bars and restaurants, sites and attractions to visit, the least number of rainy days per year, shortest drive times, hotel demand, prices and last-minute savings.

Charleston ranked high in leisure activities but lower in value and driveability. Here is the complete list:
