Aziz Ansari cancels Wednesday show in Charleston, Thursday’s sold out

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Lowcountry Weekend) - The Charleston Gaillard Center announced Wednesday’s scheduled performance by comedian Aziz Ansari has been canceled.

The performance scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m. still appears to be on at the Gaillard Center, but was listed as sold out as of Tuesday morning.

Ansari announced his Last Minute Tour earlier this year.

The award-winning actor, director, writer, and comedian has several stand-up specials on Netflix. He’s co-starred on Parks and Recreation and won two Grammys for Outstanding comedy writing.

This show is a phone-free experience. If you’re seen with a device during the performance you will be escorted out. You must wear a mask at all times and provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours to attend.

Tickets for the event went on sale in mid-December.

Ticket holders for Wednesday’s performance who purchased them through the Gaillard Center will be contacted and refunded, the venue’s website states.
