LIST: Attention, shoppers: These stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Lowcountry Weekend) - If part of your Thanksgiving plans involves trying to get a jump on Black Friday, you’ll need to strike these stores off your Thanksgiving Night shopping trip.

Several chains have announced plans to keep their doors closed during the holiday to give their employees time to spend with their families.

These stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day:

• Bed Bath and Beyond
• Belk
• Best Buy
• BJ’s Wholesale Club
• Costco
• Dick’s Sporting Goods
• DSW (Hours vary by location)
• Gap
• Hobby Lobby
• The Home Depot
• Home Goods
• JC Penney
• Kohl’s
• Lowe’s
• Macy’s
• Marshalls
• Office Depot
• Office Max
• Old Navy
• Petco
• Petsmart
• Sam’s Club
• Staples
• Target
• Ulta
• Walmart

Will grocery stores be open?

It depends on the store. Many grocery stores will open for several hours on the morning of Thanksgiving, much to the delight of families who realizing they’re missing a key ingredient needed for their Thanksgiving dinner. But most will close earlier than normal that day.

Be sure to check the store hours for your favorite grocer before Thanksgiving Day so you know when they will be available for any last-minute emergencies.
