Wayback Burgers takes on Prince Harry drama with ‘Royal Silencer’

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Lowcountry Weekend) - Wayback Burgers is taking advantage of the media hype surrounding Prince Harry and his tell-all book, “Spare.”

The chain, which has a location in Summerville, is introducing the “Royal Silencer,” which it calls “a one-of-a-kind burger designed to silence the urge to spill family gossip to media outlets, book publishers and documentarians alike.” The burger, it notes, breaks all of the chain’s rules by including a third patty “for the world’s most notable ‘spare.’”

The Royal Silencer is made with three beef patties, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, ketchup and mustard.

“Like millions of people around the globe, we’ve been watching the royal drama unfold and wanted to create a burger that encourages everyone to use their mouths as intended,” Wayback Burgers President Patrick Conlin said. “More than just an incredible burger, we designed The Royal Silencer to fill mouths to capacity with every bite to discourage spilling sensitive family drama to the media and general public. Remember, no matter the family situation, there isn’t a problem in the world that cannot be resolved over a good burger. And, if you are legitimately royals living in the United States, we hope you’ll come by and have one on us.”

Wayback Burgers offers a variety of cooked-to-order burgers available as a single patty or classic double patties, as well as cheesesteaks, crispy and grilled chicken sandwiches, veggie burgers, Impossible Burgers, chicken tenders, fresh salads, and sides including fries, tater tots, onion rings and mac and cheese bites.

The restaurant also offers hand-dipped milkshakes crafted to order with Blue Bunny ice cream and milk.

Wayback Burgers’ Summerville store is located at 618 Bacons Bridge Road.

The Royal Silencer is only available for a limited time.
