Captain’s Comic Expo returns to Mount Pleasant this weekend

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (Lowcountry Weekend) - Comic enthusiasts will be able to celebrate their favorite pasttime at a two-day expo in Patriots Point this weekend.

The 15th annual Captain’s Comic Expo is set for Saturday and Sunday at the Omar Shrine Temple, located at 176 Patroits Point Rd. in Mount Pleasant.

Captain’s Comics and Toys hosts the event which features more than 100 tables of classic and modern comic books and artwork. It also features artisans and cosplay.

Tickets are available online with one-day passes available for $20 and two-day passes available for $30. Visitors can also purchase VIP passes and order professional photos.

Saturday’s “Star Wars Experience” returns to the Expo for a selection of “Star Wars” characters, life-sized props and photo ops.

Sunday’s “Cosplay LIVE” is the largest cosplay showcase in Charleston. Visitors can come dressed in their costume of choice either or both days and have their style captured by professional photographers.

The event will also feature a food truck rodeo.

The expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
