May the Dogs be With You Festival this Saturday

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Lowcountry Weekend) - This Saturday, May 6th, Lowcountry Dog Magazine, Hollywood Feed, and Charleston Parks Conservancy will host a free, family-friendly adoption event: May the Dogs Be With You…Revenge of the Sixth! The event is at Magnolia Park in West Ashley at 720 Magnolia Road from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Every year dog lovers and Star Wars fanatics alike come together at the May the Dogs Be With You Festival to celebrate Star Wars Day, May the Fourth. You won’t want to miss this!

This Star Wars-themed dog-friendly event will have live entertainment by local funk/rock band The Hibachi Heroes, local food trucks; Roti Rolls, My Big Fat Greek Trailer, and Booze Pops, a variety of dog and craft vendors with local goodies to try, and a pick-your-prize raffle to raise money for the rescues!

Lowcountry Dog will have brand new Star Wars merch to grab, but sport your vintage tees from past years if you can! Feel free to dress your pups in their best Star Wars gear. Live Star Wars Characters from the 501st Legion there for the perfect photo-ops! There will also be a lure course for doggos needing to release their excitement and a cool-down pup pool.

If you are interested in adopting a new fur baby, arriving at the start of the event is recommended. There will be five rescues and shelters with lots of adoptable dogs and information, including Dorchester Paws, Carolina Poodle Rescue, Carolina Coonhound Rescue, Waters Edge Great Dane Rescue, and Save the Clefts.
