CHARLESTON, S.C. (Lowcountry Weekend) - The Lowcountry is preparing for a weekend full of community events like cleanups, expos and even a special market that only comes around once a month.
Gadsden Green is having a community cleanup Saturday from 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. and they’re calling it Operation Neighborhood. This community cleanup day is aimed to bring together the community by picking up trash, removing debris and more to gear toward a cleaner and safer neighborhood. The event will take place at Harmon Field on the corner of President and Line Street. And you can register for this free event online.
The Charleston Vintage Market kicks off on Sunday from noon - 5 p.m. at The Refinery. Vendors specializing in vintage clothing, home decor, art and sneakers as well as food by Big Tent Pizza, The Whale, BlackOut Burger and more will be at the event. Admission to this event is free for all ages and dogs are welcome to attend.
The City of North Charleston wants you to come out to their Community Expo Saturday from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
The purpose of the Community Expo is to promote economic development through increased exposure for small businesses. Businesses have the opportunity to showcase their products and services to the public. The Expo is a forum to educate, enlighten and inspire the entire community and surrounding areas are welcome. Forge Your Own w/Angry Giant Forge at Indigo Reef Brewing, Saturday from noon - 6 p.m. at Indigo Reef Brewing Company. That’s right, Jason Redick is a full-time blacksmith/blade smith for the past 15 years and enjoys teaching others about his craft. Learn how to harden, ground and sharpen a horseshoe & rail spike knife. You’re asked to wear closed-toed shoes to the event and safety glasses will be provided. Kids are encouraged to attend.
