The Annual North Charleston Arts Fest returns for its 38th year after the 2020 cancellation. This celebration of arts and culture will take place April 28 to May 2. Various events will highlight the talents of regional and local artists in many areas of the arts. You’ll find dance, music and theater performances and well as visual art exhibits and literature. Most of these events are free.
The Southeastern Tourism Society recognized this as a Top 20 Event in both 2008 and 2018. The performances and exhibits are spread throughout North Charleston. Visit the Judged Art & Photography and South Carolina Hands Fine Craft exhibits at the North Charleston Convention center where you can purchase works from regional and local artists. It will run be open for the entire festival beginning from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28th during the Opening Celebration. Then Thursday, April 29 to May 1 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The closing reception will take palce on Sunday, May 2nd from 12 to 5 p.m.
Visit the Park Circle Gallery for Loose Parts, a solo exhibit of paintings by Arts Fest’s poster design competition winner Christine Brush Roman. The North Charleston Riverfront Park will will feature the 15th Annual National Outdoor Sculpture Competition. And at the North Charleston City Hall, you’ll find the 14th Annual African American Fiber Art Exhibition: SANKOFA.
