Charleston Farmers Market returns to Marion Square in mid-April

The Charleston Farmers Market will begin its 2019 season on April 13.

The weekly Farmers Market events will operate from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Nov. 30 at Marion Square, 329 Meeting St. in Charleston.

The Charleston Farmers Market is dedicated to the support and advocacy of Lowcountry farmers and growers.

There are also breakfast and lunch options, an assortment of artisanal crafts, community groups, live performances and a variety of activities.

The City of Charleston also plans additional markets for select Sundays during Spoleto (including May 26 and June 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.).

Holiday Market dates will follow on Saturdays and Sundays in December, continuing through Dec. 22.

The City of Charleston’s Office of Cultural Affairs produces the annual Farmers Market along with the City of Charleston Parks Department and the City’s Special Events Committee. The market was founded in 1989 with the Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service.
