“A Chef’s Life” host Vivian Howard is opening 2 new restaurants in downtown Charleston this summer! Fans of her show are familiar with her creative farm to fork approach to food, using seasonal ingredients rooted in the traditions of the region. We can’t wait to see what she does in the Lowcountry! Vivian and her husband Ben currently have 3 other restaurants in eastern North Carolina. They may have chosen to expand to Charleston because Vivian once lived here. And as we all know, it’s easy to fall in love with this place! According to a recent post on her Facebook page, she was a server at Sticky Fingers on Meeting Street in her 20s.
The Restaurants coming to Charleston
Lenoir, named for the couple’s home in Lenoir County, North Carolina, will be a “casual yet refined” dinner only restaurant and bar.
Handy and Hot is an extension of her on-line pop up store. With this brick and mortar location, you won’t have to wait for your goodies in the mail! It will offer grab and go breakfast and lunch foods.
Both restaurants will be located at 68 Wentworth St. adjacent to the Renaissance Hotel.
