Nine-Peat: Charleston named best city in the U.S. for 9th straight year!

The streak continues! Readers of Travel+ Leisure magazine have once again named the Holy City as the best city in the United States. This is the ninth straight year the city has received the top honor on the magazine’s Best Cities in the U.S. list.

The magazine listed the charming architecture and powerhouse culinary scene as reasons Charleston is like no place else. One reader called Charleston a “historic treasure with beauty at every corner” and “heaven for foodies.”

Santa Fe, New Mexico came in at second place while Savannah came in at third. New Orleans and New York City rounded out the top five.

Charleston was also the only U.S. city to rank in the 25 Best Cities in the World in the same survey. Charleston ranked among internationally-known cities like Istanbul, Rome, Florence, Bangkok, Cape Town and Tokyo.
